The start of July!

Today is the start of the weekend for most people in the working world, as July 4th falls on a Thursday! I feel like everyone on the plant is excited (despite the rain) and everyone’s spirits are lifted. It’s nice to appreciate the little things, like a holiday, and spend time outside of the usual routine of work.

This week I’ve been working on they updating of the MSDS sheet that I’ve mentioned previously. It’s coming along nicely and I should be putting together a finished product within a few weeks. I’ve also been helping log work orders into the program that PWD uses, “Maximo”. Other businesses probably use this program to do various tasks, so it’s valuable for me to gain some exposure to it during this internship. Basically, supervisors of the operators record the regular or overtime hours worked by the employees, and I put them into the system. The program also does other tasks, and PWD just gave their employees a training session on Maximo this past week.

I’ll continue to update through the week but for now I’ll get back to work and plan what kind of food I’ll be eating tomorrow. To anyone reading, enjoy the holiday, the food, our country, and family & friends!

About lusamantha14

I am currently a senior at Lehigh University pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. My blog this semester will be about my last undergraduate year at Lehigh: academics, social events & unexpected day to day occurrences. I'm really excited to share my thoughts, stories, and advice with anyone reading, since I know that all students go through very similar experiences. I can't wait to explore all of the opportunities that the field of Civil Engineering has to offer & I'm excited to live out my last year at Lehigh to the fullest! View all posts by lusamantha14
