My name is Olek Niewiarowski and I am one of three CEE students in this year’s Martindale Student Associates program. This year, the Martindale Center is studying Slovenia, and I will be blogging about our experiences during our trip here, along with my fellow CEEs Tom and Gus. I’m studying architecture and civil engineering, Tom studies environmental engineering, and Gus is in IBE.
The Martindale Center studies issues pertaining to private enterprise with a multidisciplinary approach. Each newly minted class of Martindale Student Associates travels to a different country to study topics of the students’ choosing. Following the trip, the students will have about a year to prepare a 20 page report of their findings, to be published in the Center’s “Perspectives on Business and Economics.” During our 12-day trip, we will be meeting with people of influence: politicians, policy makers, entrepreneurs, doctors, professors and heads of universities.
